Φύση Χωρίς Σκουπίδια
It was launched in 1996 as an environmental awareness programme following an action entitled “No littering in nature”. In 2006 it was approved by the Ministry of Education as the “Nature without Garbage” Environmental Education Network.
This was followed by 26 years of continuous action and the involvement of 33,000 students in the network.
- Awareness raising activities for the school community and the local community on the proper management and reduction of waste of natural resources.
- Identification, adoption, cleaning of natural space.
- Actions to remove litter from uncontrolled dumping areas with the cooperation of local authorities.
- Actions for the protection of the site
- Composting: producing fertiliser from organic waste.
- Reuse of materials: Constructions and creations from recyclable/”waste” materials.
- “Some throw away, others go hungry”. Emphasis on human values and the environment. Taking initiatives in relation to the right of all children to education, health and decent living. Operated on the principles of solidarity, volunteerism and, above all, confidentiality.
