Anttypa Awards

Honoring the late Byron Antipas, a founding member of the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature and its General Secretary for 35 years, the HSPN established, in 1998, the homonymous award, which is given to a person or non-governmental organization that has contributed effectively, over time and selflessly, for the protection of Greek nature and the environment. The recipients from 1998 until today are:

Petros Brussalis, author, nature photographer, founding member of the HSPN

2005:

Dr. Luc Hoffmann, naturalist, philanthropist, founding member and honorary Perisidentof the Society for the Protection of Prespa

2007:

Philodassiki Society

2008:

the late Yorgos Ntouros, former Director of the Parnitha Foerstry Service, former Secreatary for National Parks and Hunting of the Ministry for Agriculture

2011:

His all-holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I

2013:

Myrsini Malakou, Director of the Society for the Protection of Prespa

2016:

Arne Strid, Professor of Botany, researcher of Greek flora
