European Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and Competitive Circular Economy, Jessika Roswall, visited the Palo Laziale area, one of the study sites of the LIFE PRIMED project, on the outskirts of Rome.
We had the pleasure of showcasing the key achievements of LIFE PRIMED, a project coordinated by HSPN (Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature) for over six years. Together with the Commissioner, we toured the Palo Laziale site and highlighted the restoration practices and targeted improvements implemented to enhance the conservation status of local habitats and species.
The visit also offered a great opportunity to present the innovative Carbon-Neutral Rainwater Harvesting and Distribution System, one of the project’s pioneering solutions addressing water stress and forest dieback in the Mediterranean.
Commissioner Roswall praised our efforts to integrate circular economy principles with ecological restoration, contributing to a more sustainable and competitive Europe.
