GFF was established in 2008 by FEE to offset CO2 emissions from travel. This non-profit fund is managed under the Learning Αbout Forests (LEAF) programme, by its International Director. The fund invests 90% of its income directly into tree planting and other CO2 compensation efforts that are always combined with environmental education activities.
Persons or organizations who are interested in compensating the CO2 emissions from their travel and support schools around the world in tree-planting activities can calculate their CO2 emissions through the formula provided in the GFF webpage (https://www.leaf.global/the-global-forest-fund) and donate the money to the FEE bank account. Projects are submitted to FEE, evaluated and funded on merit.
