1,402km completed. 6,365km to go!
The Running Out of Time relay baton has travelled 1,402km over the last week. Passed from person to person, 24 hours day, for over 138 stages!!
We’ve been blown away by the unbelievable effort of everyone who has participated so far. From our ultra runners like Phil and Richard who ran over 41 miles through the night, to the thousands of pupils who’ve cheered us along – thank you!
It’s fantastic to see what this relay means to people. We’ve loved meeting you all and celebrating your stage with your friends and family.
For everyone whose stage is still to come, we cannot wait to get this baton to you, to keep moving forward, celebrating climate action stories and getting our baton message to Egypt in time for COP27!

Live from the Relay!
Abe, one of the legendary Support Crew, has been bringing the relay to life through social media for everyone keeping track online. Soooo much has been happening and it’s truly epic seeing all the energy come through on screen!
Each day Abe is sharing summaries of moments from the relay and we LOVE to re-share your posts and Facebook/Insta stories too. Tag us @ClimateRelay and use the hashtag #RunningOutOfTime.
Cheer on the relay…

Making gas from grass!!
Ecotricity, the world’s first green energy company, who pioneered the use of the wind and sun to make green electricity in Britain – has begun construction of its latest renewable energy innovation – a green gas mill, which will make gas from grass!
We’re excited to be sponsored by Ecotricity and a huge thank you to all of their staff who are participating in the relay! Jo and William carried the baton yesterday near Bristol and Paul is running this morning. Run strong Paul!
Magic Mike
The man with the ‘electric’ van
The entire Support Crew (Mike, Emily, James and Abe) have been the life and soul of this relay.
Each week I want to take a moment to say thanks to one of them for everything they are doing. So many of you will have met this dream team already, and many more of you will over the coming weeks.
Today, I want to give a shout out to Mike, who looks after (among many other things) the Support Crew Logistics. Many of you will have seen Mike in the electric van, busy in the background, helping things run on track and on time. We couldn’t do it without you Mike!
If you’d like to say “hi” to Mike, he’s @in_to.the_wild

Please support the message in the baton. It calls for quality climate education to equip people of all ages with the knowledge and skills necessary to build a future in which all can thrive.
The more support we get – the stronger the Message!
Good luck to all of today’s and this weekend’s Batonbearers!
We’re all cheering you on – remember to tag us on social #RunningOutOfTime so we can reshare those photos!
