Erasmus+
The “Food in schools and climate change” Erasmus+ project aims to empower teachers in environmental education, focusing on food and its link to climate change (CC), to promote Sustainable Development Education (ESD). Teachers will gain new skills, pedagogical approaches, and professional support to confidently teach about sustainable food practices, food waste, local and seasonal food, and the carbon footprint of food. The project emphasizes inclusivity, involving teachers working with marginalized and special needs groups through practical activities like games and cooking. The goal is to equip teachers with expertise to educate students, fostering responsible attitudes towards food and sustainability, both in schools and beyond. Long-term, this aims to inspire active citizenship and build resilience in food systems to future climate scenarios.
The project is implemented by HSPN for Greece in collaboration with Društvo DOVES – FEE Slovenia for Slovenia.
