The protection of biodiversity is a matter of vital importance—not only for the sustainability of agriculture but also for the preservation of life itself. Bees and butterflies, as essential pollinators, and ladybugs, as natural pest controllers, are invaluable allies in maintaining biodiversity.

In Nea Mesimvria, a semi-urban area with significant agricultural activity, residents welcome these insects not only in their gardens but also in their crops. As Ms. Aspasia Pilitsi, a local biologist from Nea Mesimvria, confirms, “The abundance of pollinators, especially bees, ensures improved yields, particularly in organic farming, which predominates in the area.”
